Steve Rehorst

Steve joined the Beacon Center board in 2019 and served as our Board President from 2020-2024.
Steve was born and raised in Fargo, ND, and is a Fargo South High School graduate. Steve holds an Associate of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Northland Community and Technical College in Thief River Falls, MN, and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Minnesota State University Moorhead in Moorhead, MN.
Steve began his law enforcement career with the Watertown Police Department as a patrol officer in 2003. Since 2003, Steve has served as a Field Training Officer, Corporal, Patrol Sergeant and was promoted to Captain in 2019.
Steve enjoys being active in the community and volunteering. Steve participates in the Watertown Fraternal Order of Police, where he served as a board member from 2005 to 2008 and the Watertown 4th of July Chairperson from 2005 to 2012. He has also been active with the South Dakota Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics since 2005.
Steve enjoys spending time with his family, and in his free time, he also stays active traveling, attending concerts, sporting events, bow hunting, running, biking, kayaking, and being outside.
