As I reflect on my 13 years with the Beacon Center, I write this message with a deep sense of gratitude and pride as I prepare for my retirement. It has been an honor and a privilege to serve this incredible organization, to work alongside our dedicated staff, volunteers, and board members, and to be a part of such a supportive community.
First and foremost, I want to sincerely thank everyone in our community for your continued support. We could not do this important work without you. Your commitment has enabled us to thrive and continue providing essential services to victims and survivors of violence. Our doors remain open to those in need, and our staff, volunteers, and board are steadfast in their efforts to keep them safe and empower them to rebuild their lives.
Over the years, I’ve seen the Beacon Center grow stronger, not only in the services we provide but also in the awareness we’ve raised within our community. We’ve been able to foster important conversations and welcome members of our community to engage with us, learn about who we are, and understand the vital work we do. This awareness is critical in ensuring our community remains actively involved and supportive of our mission.
As I step down, I am confident that the Beacon Center will continue to grow and strengthen its impact on the lives of those we serve. I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished together, and I know that with your continued support, the Beacon Center will carry on its important work, ensuring that victims and survivors of violence receive the care, support, and advocacy they deserve.
Thank you for being a part of this journey with me and for your unwavering commitment to our shared mission. I leave with a full heart, knowing that the Beacon Center’s work will carry on, touching lives and creating hope for those in need.
With deep appreciation,
Dawn Sikkink
