Preschool – 2nd Grade

Asking for Help & Permission – Students begin by learning the importance of body safety through understanding when to ask for help from a trusted adult, how to seek permission before physical contact, and how to establish and respect personal boundaries. Additionally, lessons are developmentally appropriate and tailored to each grade level.

3rd Grade

Privacy – Building on earlier concepts, students learn about their right to personal privacy and the importance of respecting the privacy of others. In addition, this lesson reinforces healthy boundaries, body safety, and making safe choices in everyday situations.

4th Grade

Personal Boundaries – Next, students are introduced to the concept of consent and learn how to establish, communicate, and respect personal boundaries. Furthermore, the lesson emphasizes the importance of confidently saying and accepting “no,” even in uncomfortable or challenging situations.

5th Grade

Recognizing Others’ Boundaries –As students mature, they develop a deeper understanding of how recognizing and respecting the boundaries of others contributes to healthy relationships and helps prevent abuse. Likewise, the lesson reinforces empathy, consent, and personal responsibility.

6th Grade

Sexual Harassment – Finally, students learn to identify behaviors that constitute sexual harassment, understand the impact of those behaviors, and recognize the importance of respect, consent, and appropriate interpersonal interactions. In addition, the lesson provides strategies for responding to and reporting harassment in a safe and supportive manner, helping students apply these skills in real-life situations.

7th- 8th grade

SAFE-T (Sexual Abuse Free Environment for Teens)– As students enter adolescence, the SAFE-T curriculum builds upon the foundational body safety and boundary concepts introduced in earlier grades. Through a two-year series of engaging lessons, students explore sexual abuse prevention, healthy relationships, empathy, healthy coping skills, personal boundaries, personal responsibility, risk factors, and other essential life skills. Furthermore, schools have the flexibility to implement the curriculum in a way that best meets their needs, either by delivering the complete curriculum through multiple classroom visits, selecting individual lessons, or choosing a condensed, one-visit presentation that provides an overview of all topics.

Project SELFIE(Safe Expression Online for Internet Empowerment)– In addition, schools may choose to incorporate Project SELFIE as a companion curriculum to SAFE-T. As technology becomes an increasingly important part of students’ daily lives, this program equips adolescents with the knowledge and skills to navigate digital communication safely, responsibly, and respectfully.

The Project SELFIE curriculum covers:

      • The differences between consent, cooperation, and compliance.
      • Strategies for coping with peer pressure related to sexting.
      • How to safely respond to sexting requests or unsolicited images.
      • Empowered bystander strategies that encourage students to support one another and promote safer online communities.

Keeping Adolescent Youth Safe on the Internet – Finally, the program extends beyond the classroom by offering Keeping Adolescent Youth Safe on the Internet, a two-hour interactive training designed for parents, caregivers, and professionals who work with youth. This session provides practical tools to help adults both prevent and respond to:

    • Adolescent sexting.
    • Online grooming and exploitation.
    • Harmful exposure to pornography.
    • Risky digital interactions with known acquaintances.
